Description

Activity 1
Now that we understand the difference between specific and general vocabulary, let's put this knowledge into practice. These activities allow you to see how well you understand the use of a dictionary or thesaurus to check the denotative meaning of vocabulary. You'll also be able to practice working with specific words and connotative meanings. If you struggle with word choice, you may review and try these practice activities again.
Match the words with their connotation: positive, negative, or neutral
Drag the words into the appropriate box, depending on whether the connotation is positive, negative, or neutral.
