Introduction
Now that we understand the difference between academic and specialized vocabulary, let's put this knowledge into practice. These activities provide an opportunity to check your understanding of the vocabulary lesson. If you have a difficult time working with academic and specialized vocabulary, you may return to review the information presented in the Let's Study section and then try these practice activities again.
Activity 1
Read the text, paying attention to any specialized terminology you find in the text. Then, complete the terminology chart below to help you master the specialized terminology for this subject.
