Equations come in all different types, but the goal is always the same: use inverse operations to find the value for the variable that makes the equation true. Sometimes, the equations only take one step to solve, sometimes more. In this section, we will look at equations with variables on both sides of the equation. The goal here will be to get all the variables on one side of the equation and then solve as you have already done. Watch these three videos to see examples of how we use like terms to solve these types of equations.
