mantissa

The part of the floating-point number that holds the actual precision digits of the number.

maskable interrupt

A standard priority hardware interrupt (for example, a keyboard press or a network packet arrival) that the CPU can choose to temporarily ignore or delay if it is currently running an ultra-high-priority kernel task.

MIPS assembly language

A specific, streamlined assembly language format heavily used in universities to teach clean computer architecture design.
