My name is Dhovie, and I’m from the Philippines. I am currently undergoing training as an ESL teacher for Chinese students, and I’m looking forward to becoming part of the company.
What I like about teaching is the freedom to share my knowledge and insights with my students. They can acquire, learn, and apply what I teach them in real-life situations. It’s a win-win situation because students also give me ideas on how to better understand their curiosity and learning needs. We learn at the same time, and learning is a continuous, non-negotiable process.
What I don’t like is when students do not appreciate your efforts or, worse, demean you. However, I believe that when students show this kind of behavior, it is not about you—it’s about them. Our main role is to help, guide, support, and understand them in the best way possible because, in every situation, there is always a reason behind it. And remember, patience is a virtue.
