To be a great leader in your entrepreneurial venture, you need to understand where you excel and where you may want to work on skills. Review this resource and consider writing a SWOT analysis on your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
Companies routinely perform SWOT analysis to determine which areas they do well in (Strengths), which areas need improvement (Weaknesses), and help them identify potential actions to positively affect the weaknesses (opportunities), and finally, identify and threats that could affect leadership development (Threats) and how to cope with those issues if they come up.
Please complete the SWOT analysis, identifying at least five factors in each quadrant, then answer the questions that follow. This will be the basis for the leadership development plan you’ll create later in the course.
STRENGTHS Identify at least five leadership traits or behaviors you believe you do well. |
OPPORTUNITIES Now, turn your weaknesses into opportunities. How might you take a weakness and develop it toward leadership self-improvement? |
WEAKNESSES Identify at least five leadership traits or behaviors you believe you need, but may be lacking at this time |
THREATS These are factors that may be somewhat out of your control. By identifying them now, you can create plans to overcome them should they occur. |
