Leadership Development plan

Before you create your leadership development plan, consider taking the CliftonStrengths for Students assessment. This tool focuses on 34 talent themes and can help you guide your own personal development of those strengths. That can be found here: https://www.strengthsquest.com/home.aspx

Now it's time to create your leadership development plan! This plan can be a roadmap to ensure you meet your goals. Whether you are a student with little work experience, or an executive at an organization, this roadmap can help define the traits and skills you'll need to be a successful leader.

Instructions:

STEP ONE: List each of your goals, both personal and business related in box one. These should be divided by goals you have in the short term, medium term, and long term.

STEP TWO: Now that you have defined goals, it is time to determine what skills are needed to help you achieve each goal. Go back and look at the SMART goals you set earlier in the course, and the SWOT analysis you did on yourself to help you with this. Also, refer back to the personality tests you took to do some deep personal assessment.

STEP THREE: Take a look at the skills you noted you'll need to meet each goal. In this section, write down the skills you'd like to work on, based on your work so far in this course.

STEP FOUR: This is an important part of your plan! Here, you will assess the specific steps you'll need to meet your goals. Refer back to the work you did on SMART Goals to help you with this. What skills, traits and abilities will help you meet these goals?
