Multifactor Authentication
2. State-of-the-Art and Potential MFA Sources
2.1.4. Facial Recognition
As the next step, facial recognition could be considered. At the beginning of its development, the technology was based on the landmark picture analysis, which was relatively simple to replicate by supplying the system with a photo. The next phase was by enabling three-dimensional face recognition, i.e., by asking the user to move head during the authentication process in a specific manner. Finally, the advancement of this system reached the point of recognizing the actual expressions of the user. To enable facial recognition, it is required to equip the system with at least one output device and a camera.
