2021 Capitol insurrection charges
Some
twenty years after its implementation, a provision of the
Sarbanes-Oxley Act, 18 U.S. Code § 1512, was introduced in the
prosecution of many of the rioters of the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol
insurrection. Some 40% were charged with corruptly impeding an official
proceeding.
