We often ask ourselves, what is the purpose of education? Why do we have to learn things that will not be useful to us in the future? We can unwittingly find the answers in our everyday lives. We think we do not put everything we have learned into practice, but that is not the case. When we talk about education, we are really referring to a process that helps us acquire knowledge, values, and teamwork—a process that is not just about sitting in a classroom and listening.

Because of the qualities and lessons imparted through the education process, the level of education achieved is always considered. Until one enters the workforce, one does not fully realize the importance placed on any type of job. The higher our level of education, the greater our chances of finding work, and in a world of constant job competition, even the most irrelevant things we believe can determine our future.

We live in a world where, using social media, information is transmitted too quickly, leaving us no time to discern. This is where the independence that education fosters in us comes in. Knowledge is power, as they often say, and it is true. Thanks to education, we can be capable of criticizing, reasoning, and understanding what is being transmitted to us, and not systematically repeating what we are told, blindly believing it to be true.

Personal growth is the process of improving oneself and one's life. It is based on acquiring knowledge, skills, experiences, and attitudes. All these factors are transmitted through the educational process, so personal growth is directly connected to the educational process.

The function of education is to transmit knowledge and skills that allow us to enter the workforce, but the globalization process in which we live, to be part of society and understand it in the best viable way. It is of utmost importance to understand the role education plays in our lives and to understand that we are an essential part of this world. We must sit down and think about what role we want to play in a globalized world that is constantly changing, where even the most insignificant things we believe can become relevant and define us.
