A Perfect Beach Day

A Perfect Beach Day

One summer, when I was about ten years old, my family decided to take a road trip to the beach. We were all packed up and ready to go, with snacks, games, and plenty of sunscreen. The drive was long, but we kept ourselves entertained by singing along to our favorite songs and telling stories. About halfway through the trip, we hit some unexpected traffic, which made the ride even longer than we anticipated.

When we finally reached the beach, it was late afternoon. The sun was starting to set, and the sky was painted with beautiful shades of pink and orange. We immediately ran to the water, and I remember feeling the cool waves against my feet, the sand soft between my toes. My younger sister, who was always adventurous, ran straight into the waves, but she didn’t see the big rock just beneath the surface. With a loud splash, she tripped, and we all burst into laughter. Luckily, she wasn’t hurt, just a little embarrassed.

That evening, we had a picnic on the beach as the sun dipped below the horizon. I remember how peaceful it was, sitting together, listening to the sound of the waves, and enjoying the perfect end to a perfect day.
