Last week as a teacher, I focused on introducing a new unit on environmental science to my students. I began by creating a detailed lesson plan that included a mix of lectures, hands-on activities, and group discussions to make the topic engaging. During one of the classes, I organized a small experiment where students tested water samples for pollutants, which really piqued their interest. I also assigned a project where each student had to research a specific environmental issue and present their findings to the class. Throughout the week, I spent time grading quizzes and assignments, ensuring to provide constructive feedback to help students understand the material better.
In addition, I scheduled one-on-one meetings with a few students who were struggling with the concepts, offering extra support and resources. I held a parent-teacher conference for a student who had shown remarkable improvement, sharing the good news and discussing ways to maintain this progress. I also collaborated with my colleagues to plan a school-wide Earth Day event, brainstorming activities that would involve the entire school. On Friday, I wrapped up the week by reflecting on the effectiveness of my lessons and planning adjustments for the following week. It was a productive and fulfilling week, filled with both challenges and rewarding moments.
