There are eight main parts of speech in English grammar:

1. Nouns: it is the words that represent people, places, things, or ideas. Examples: dog, house, happiness.

2. Pronouns: it is the words  that replace nouns. Examples: he, she, it, they.

3. Verbs:it is a words  that describe actions or states of being. Examples: run, eat, sleep, be.

4. Adjectives: Words that describe nouns or pronouns. Examples: big, red, happy.

5. Adverbs: Words that modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. They describe how, when, where, or to what extent an action is performed. Examples: quickly, slowly, very, always.

6. Prepositions: Words that show the relationship between a noun or pronoun and another word in the sentence. Examples: on, in, under, over, to, from.

7. Conjunctions: Words that connect words, phrases, or clauses. Examples: and, but, or, because, so.

8. Interjections: Words that express strong emotions. Examples: Wow!, Ouch!, Oh no!

These eight parts of speech work together to form sentences and express meaning in language.
