Sentence Types Discussion

The types of sentences which are varied in formation and giving various information about the sentence. They are,

• Simple sentence
• Compound sentence
• Complex sentence

Example: I have pencils. (Simple)

                I have pencils and I have sketches. (Compound)

                I have pencils and sketches in my pouch. (Complex)

The types of sentences that express the expression and the modulation of the sentences. They are,

• Declarative sentence
• Imperative sentence
• Exclamatory sentence
• Interrogative sentence

Example: Close the door. (Declarative)

                 Please close the door. (Imperative)

                 The door was closed! (Exclamatory)
