In a sentence, there are two main parts:

1. Subject: The person, place, thing, or idea that the sentence is about. It's the "who" or "what" performing the action or being described.

2. Predicate: The part of the sentence that tells us something about the subject. It contains the verb and any information related to the action or state of being.

For example:

"The boy (subject) is running quickly (predicate)."

In this sentence:

- "The boy" is the subject (the one performing the action).

- "is running quickly" is the predicate (telling us what the boy is doing).

The predicate can include

- Verbs (actions or states of being)

- Objects (direct or indirect)

- Modifiers (adverbs, adjectives)
