Vocabulary Strategy I Tried: Context Clues
📚 What I Did:
Today, I challenged myself to learn new words by using context clues while reading an article about environmental sustainability. Instead of looking up unfamiliar words right away, I tried to guess their meaning based on how they were used in the sentence.
📝 Did It Work?
Yes! It made reading more engaging, and I felt more confident trying to figure things out on my own before checking a dictionary.
💡 New Words I Learned:
- Mitigate – to reduce or make something less severe
- Degradation – the process of something becoming worse or less valuable
- Sustainable – using resources in a way that does not deplete them for the future

🙌 Reflection:
I realized that reading in context helps me remember words better because I link them to real situations. I’ll definitely keep using this strategy, especially when reading articles or stories.
