Hi guys, I think everything I've read here so far is important. Studying grammar is important. But I've never learned to speak, only by knowing grammar. When I'm confronted by someone who speaks English fluently, I don't understand a thing. Today, with all the slang that has emerged in Italian and in every language, words have actually changed and are used truncated or even substituted... I find it even more difficult today, compared to when I was in school, to learn the language. At the end of this course, I will have recovered all my grammar memory, but will I be able to converse with someone who actually speaks English? Or is what they say more true, that perhaps one should learn a language quickly, even if incorrectly, but only through real conversations? But I need a certificate... a certificate is always needed... so I'll continue studying grammar. Thanks for listening to my outburst.
