1. I walked beyond the town to look over the mountains.

Parts of speech:

I - pronoun

walked - verb

beyond - preposition

the - article

town - noun

to - (here's the part I got stuck, I confidently thought it was a preposition cause I remember seeing it in the list of words provided in the resources as preposition. Hang on, and see why it isn't too)

look - verb

over - preposition

the - article

mountains - verb

Note: as in the resources, the prepositions come before a noun (the part that stuck most after my mistake, lol)

The following are a few sentences that made me very conscious of linking verbs.

2. In the morning it was raining.

Parts of speech

In - preposition

the - article

morning - noun

it - pronoun

was - verb (linking)

raining - verb

-I had gone for "raining" only as the verb. Haha!-

3. A fog had come over the mountains.

A - article

fog - noun

had - verb (don't tell anyone - I almost missed this too)

come - verb

over - preposition

the - article

mountains - noun

Sentence 1 revealed my negligence in studying more. I shouldn't had any problem if I had paid rapt attention.

To more wins. Wooohooo! (Interjection). Haha!
