I looked at the sentence and used the SVOMPT table to find the pattern. SVOMPT stands for:
-
S – Subject
-
V – Verb
-
O – Object
-
M – Manner (how?)
-
P – Place (where?)
-
T – Time (when?)
Example Sentence: She reads books quietly at the library every morning.
SVOMPT Table:
| Part | Word(s) |
|---|---|
| S | She |
| V | reads |
| O | books |
| M | quietly |
| P | at the library |
| T | every morning |
This helped me see the structure of the sentence clearly. It also made me better at building longer and more detailed sentences.
