 Noun – A noun is a word that names a person, place, thing, or idea. Examples: cat, teacher, school, love

Pronoun – takes the place of a noun to avoid repetition. Examples: he, she, it, they


 Verb – A verb shows action or a state of being. It tells what the subject is doing. Examples: run, is, eat, feel

 Adjectiveb– describes a noun or pronoun. It gives more information about what something is like. Examples: happy, tall, blue, three

 Adverb– describes a verb, adjective, or another adverb. It tells how, when, where, or to what extent. Examples: quickly, very, here, often


 Preposition– shows the relationship between a noun or pronoun and another word in the sentence. Examples: on, in, under, beside


 Conjunction – words or groups of words. Examples: and, but, or, because


 Interjection – expresses strong emotion or sudden feeling. Examples: Wow! Oh! Hey!
