These are the sentences that taught me something new. At least I had not paid attention that adverbs also describe adjectives and adverbs. I was not aware that in these cases, the adverb appear before.


  • This is a very useful arrangement.

In this example the adverb ‘very’ is describing the adjective ‘useful’.

This - demonstrative pronoun

Is - verb

A - indefinite article

Arrangement - noun



  • They walk quite fast.

In this example the adverb ‘quite’ is describing the other adverb ‘fast’.

I also think that is an important information that the conjunctions can be coordinating, subordinating and correlative.


  • When Robert teaches his classes, his wife feeds the cats.

In this sentence, the subordinating conjunction ‘when’ connects two parts that don’t have equal importance. The part with the conjunction, is not a complete idea.
