1. Possessive adjectives are not same as possessive pronouns. Possessive pronouns can stand while possessive adjectives cannot. They modify a noun. For example;
The book is mine(pronoun)
This is my book (adjective)
Note: Possessive adjectives must come before the noun it modifies.
2. Adjectives can also function as a noun when accompanied by the article "the".
For example; the rich, the poor.
3. You can substitute the conjunction"for" with "because".
For example; I drove fast for I was late to work.
I drove fast because I was late to work.
