Parts of speech are categories            classifying words based on their function in sentences. 

Here are the 8 primary types with examples:

1.Noun

      *Definition:Names, People, places, things, or ideas. 

       *Examples:Cat, Manila, Happiness

2.Pronouns

        *Definition:Replaces, Nouns to avoid repetition

        *Examples:She, they, it ,someone

3.Verb

        *Definition:Expresses actions, states or occurrences

        *Example:Run, is, think, become

4Adjectives

         *Definition:Modifies verbs nouns

          *Example:Bright, three, ancient

5.Adverbs

          *Definition:Modifies verbs, adjectives, or other adverb (often ends-ly) 

          *Examples:Quickly, very, well

6.Preposition

           *Definition:Show relationship between nouns/pronouns and other words

            *Example:In, at, between , despite

7.Conjunctions

            *Definition:connect words, phrases or clauses

            *Example:And, but, because, although

8.Interjections

             *Definition:Expresse sudden emotion

              *Example:Wow! Ouch! Hey


Here an Example Sentence  for each part of speech, with the relevant words) 

1.NOUN

       The cat slept on the windowsill. 

        (Names a thing:cat) 

2.PRONOUN

        She gave us the keys. 

        (Replace the nouns:She, us) 

3.Verb

         The children laughed loudly. 

          (Expresses action:laughed) 

4.Adjective

          The bright sun warmed the old house. 

          (Describes nouns:bright old) 

5.Adverb

          He ran quickly and spoke softly. 

          (Modifies verb:quickly, softly) 

6.Preposition 

           The Keys are under the mat. 

          (Shows location:under) 

7.Conjunction

           I wanted tea, but they chose coffee. 

          (Connect clauses:but) 

8.Interjection

           Wow! That's incredible. 

         (Expresses emotion:wow)
