I learned a lot about the parts of speech and the correct use of words along with their rules. Some words, phrase and sentences are spelled differently than the others, like the difference between common and proper nouns. Proper nouns are specific and start with a capital letter e.g., Aaron, Mitch, France, Paris, Sunday, and September. While common nouns refer to a general person, place, thing, or idea; They do not name a specific one.
I also became more aware of the use of articles, interjections, and conjunctions. I used to have difficulties with the functions and proper use of adjectives and adverbs but this course helped me understand their distinctions and differences more clearly.
Sentence sample:
Aaron and Mitch are going to Paris on the 12th of September.
Aaron (proper noun) and (conjunction) Mitch (proper noun) are going (verb) to (preposition) Paris (proper noun) on(preposition) the(article) 12th(adjective) of September (proper noun).
