Vocabulary Strategy: Context Clues

What I Did:
Today, I tried using context clues to learn new words while reading an article about global politics. Instead of looking up every unfamiliar word immediately, I tried to guess its meaning from the surrounding sentences and overall context. Afterward, I checked the dictionary to confirm whether my guesses were correct.

Did It Work?
Yes, this strategy worked really well for me because it kept my reading flow natural. I was able to understand most words without constant interruption, and it made me more confident in figuring out meanings on my own.

New Words I Learned:

Bilateral – involving two parties, especially countries.

Consensus – general agreement among a group.

Preliminary – something done in preparation for a more important event or action.

Reflection:
Using context clues helped me become more independent as a reader. I plan to keep practicing this strategy daily to strengthen my vocabulary naturally through reading.
