SVOMPT Framework

For this discussion, I practiced identifying the sentence pattern used in a short text by breaking down sentences into the SVOMPT parts. SVOMPT stands for Subject, Verb, Object, Manner, Place, and Time. For example, in the sentence “The bank clerks gave the robbers all the money yesterday at the bank,” the subject is “The bank clerks,” the verb is “gave,” and the object is “the robbers all the money.” The place is “at the bank,” and the time is “yesterday.” There is no manner mentioned in this sentence. By organizing sentences this way, I can better understand how different parts of a sentence fit together to convey clear meaning. I look forward to seeing how others analyze sentence patterns and the examples they choose.
