So basically, in English, every word has its own “job” in a sentence. Just like in a team, each player has a role—striker, keeper, defender. In grammar, we call these roles Parts of Speech. If you know who does what, building sentences becomes way easier and way less confusing.

1. Noun – the “thing” or “person” (people, places, objects, ideas).

2. Pronoun – replaces nouns so we don’t repeat words a million times.

3. Verb – the action or the “what’s happening” part.

4. Adjective – describes a noun (what kind? which one? how many?).

5. Adverb – describes a verb, an adjective, or another adverb (how? when? where?).

6. Preposition – shows relationships (like place, time, direction).

7. Conjunction – connects words or sentences.

8. Interjection – short emotional expressions (like “Wow!”, “Hey!”, “Oops!”).
