Today, I tried the context clues strategy to learn new vocabulary. When I came across unfamiliar words while reading an article, I looked at the surrounding sentences to guess their meanings before checking a dictionary. This helped me understand the text more quickly and remember the new words better.
It worked well for me because I could connect each new word to the context in which it appeared. For example, I learned the words meticulous (very careful and detailed) and inevitable (certain to happen).
Using context clues helped me become a more confident reader and made learning new words more natural.
