oday, I tried the context clues strategy to help build my vocabulary. I focused on understanding new words by looking at the sentences around them. This strategy actually worked well for me because it helped me guess the meaning without having to stop and check the dictionary every time.
One new word I learned was “immerse.” From the sentence, I understood that it meant to deeply involve or engage in something. I also learned the word “gradual,”which I figured out meant happening slowly over time.
Using context clues helped me read more smoothly and feel more confident when I came across unfamiliar words. I will definitely continue using this strategy to expand my vocabulary.
