Today, I decided to try the strategy of using context clues to learn new words. I read a short article and tried to guess the meaning of unfamiliar words by looking at the sentences around them. After checking the dictionary, I found that most of my guesses were correct, so the strategy worked well for me.
I learned some new words today, such as “maintain” and “require.” Using context clues helped me understand their meaning without stopping my reading too much.
The strategy I chose—using context clues—was very helpful, and I plan to continue using it to build my vocabulary.
