Today, I tried the vocabulary strategy called Using Context Clues. I chose this strategy because it helps me guess the meaning of new words without using a dictionary. I read the sentences carefully and looked at the words around the new vocabulary to understand the meaning.
This strategy worked well for me because it made me think more about the text and pay attention to details. I also learned some new words, such as “ancestors,” “preserve,” and “identity.” I understood their meaning by looking at how they were used in the reading.
I think using context clues is a good strategy to build my vocabulary, and I will continue using it in the future.
