I live in sri lanka and I love gardening,playing computer games.However my favourite leisure time activity is watching television .I love watching movies too.Currently I am doing this course to improve my english .
1. Sentence Types (by Structure)
Compound Sentence: "I live in sri lanka and I love gardening,playing computer games.
Simple Sentence: "However my favourite leisure time activity is watching television."
Why: Even though it starts with a transition word, it contains only one independent clause.
Simple Sentence: "I love watching movies too."
Why: One subject, one verb, and a complete thought.
Simple Sentence: "Currently I am doing this course to improve my english."
Why: This is another single independent clause.
2. Sentence Patterns
This refers to the arrangement of the Subject (S), Verb (V), and Object (O)
S-V-O: "I love gardening..."
(Subject: I /
Verb: love / Object: gardening/games).
S-V-SC (Subject Complement): "...leisure time activity is watching television."
(Subject: activity / Verb: is /Complement: watching television). Here, "is" acts as a linking verb connecting the subject to a description
