Today, I chose to use the context clues strategy to build my vocabulary. While reading a short text in English, I tried to understand new words by looking at the sentences around them instead of using a dictionary right away. This strategy worked well for me because I could guess the meaning of the words and understand the text more easily.
Some new words I learned were “pattern,” “identify,” and “strategy.” By seeing how these words were used in the text, I was able to remember their meanings better. I like this strategy because it helps me become more independent when reading and improves my comprehension.
