Hi, I’m Sandeep Kummari.
Today I am going to explain the eight parts of speech in a short and simple way.


1. Noun (The Name)

What it does: Names a person, place, thing, or idea.
Examples (5): boy, school, book, city, happiness
Sentence: The boy took his book to school.


2. Pronoun (Replaces a Noun)

What it does: Takes the place of a noun.
Examples (5): he, she, it, they, we
Sentence: She is my best friend.


3. Verb (The Action)

What it does: Shows action or state of being.
Examples (5): run, eat, write, is, play
Sentence: I play football every day.


4. Adjective (Describes a Noun)

What it does: Describes a noun or pronoun.
Examples (5): big, happy, red, tall, smart
Sentence: She has a red dress.


5. Adverb (Describes a Verb)

What it does: Tells how, when, where, or how often.
Examples (5): quickly, slowly, yesterday, here, always
Sentence: He runs quickly.


6. Preposition (Shows Relationship)

What it does: Shows the position of a noun.
Examples (5): in, on, under, behind, near
Sentence: The book is on the table.


7. Conjunction (Joins Words)

What it does: Joins words or sentences.
Examples (5): and, but, or, because, so
Sentence: I like tea and coffee.


8. Interjection (Shows Feeling)

What it does: Shows emotion or reaction.
Examples (5): wow, oh, hey, ouch, hooray
Sentence: Wow! That is amazing.
