Parts of speech

I learned that parts of speech help us understand how words are used in a sentence.
A noun names a person, place, or thing.
A verb shows an action or a state of being.

Examples of parts of speech:
Noun: student, school
Verb: learn, read
Adjective: new
Adverb: quickly
