For this assignment, I decided to focus on using context clues while reading a news article online. Usually, when I see a word I don't know, I stop and look it up in a dictionary immediately. This time, I tried to guess the meaning first based on the surrounding sentences.
I came across the word "ephemeral" in an article about street art. The sentence mentioned that the art was "washed away by rain" and "lasted only a few days." From this experience clue, I guessed that "ephemeral" meant something short-lived or temporary.
I checked the dictionary afterward, and I was right! This strategy helped me stay focused on the reading without breaking my flow.
