During this lesson, I learned the eigh parts of speech that i'll describe below :
1. Verb
It is a word who describe the action in the sentence, for exemple 'eat, jump, read, awake'
2. noun
we have two types of noun :
- concret noun : teacher, student, desk
- abstract : succes, loyalty, freedom, achievement
the plural form of noun:
- add 's' : teacher = teachers
- add 'es' : class = classes
- change 'y' to 'i' and 'es' : city = cities, country = countries
- change 'f' to 'v' and add 'es' : life = lives
- no specific rule : child = children, tooth = teeth
3. Pronoun
the pronoun take the place of the verb
- subject pronoun : i, you, he, she, we, you, they
- object pronoun : me, you, him, her, us, you, them
4. adjectif
the adjectifs are used to describe the action.
Adjectifs have the comparative form and superlative form like :
fast ->faster-> fastest
5. adverb
regular adverb
irregular adverd
6.conjunction
In standard english, there tree type of conjunctions : coordinating, subordinating and correlative
7. preposition
preposition is a word wo show a relationship of place, time or location between noun and pronoun and the rest of a sentence.
8. interjection
is a spoken or writen expression of emotion like 'wowo' for surprise, 'argh' for frustration
