Vocabulary building

I decided to try the Word Mapping strategy to build my vocabulary. I chose the word "elated," which means feeling very happy or joyful.

I started by writing down the definition: "feeling or expressing great happiness." Then, I thought of synonyms like "joyful," "thrilled," and "excited." For antonyms, I listed "sad," "depressed," and "unhappy."

Next, I used "elated" in a sentence: "I was elated when I received the good news about my exam results."

Trying this strategy helped me understand the word better and remember it more easily. I learned that "elated" is a strong word to describe a very happy feeling, and I now feel more confident using it in my writing and conversations.

I plan to try this strategy again with other new words to keep expanding my vocabulary!
