Today I tried the strategy of learning new words by paying attention to context while reading. I looked for words I didn’t know and tried to figure out what they meant from the sentence around them before checking a dictionary.
It actually worked really well. I was able to understand the words better because I saw how they were used, not just their definitions. Some new words I learned today were meticulous, which means very careful, ambiguous, meaning unclear or having more than one meaning, and resilient, which describes someone or something that bounces back after challenges.
I liked this strategy because it made reading more interesting and helped me remember the words. I plan to keep using it to improve my vocabulary.
