For this discussion, I analyzed the given sentences and organized them using the SVOMPT structure (Subject, Verb, Object, Manner, Place, Time).
Text:
Robert lives in an apartment.
He loves his job.
His wife teaches college courses.
They work in the mornings.
Sentence Structure Table
| Subject | Verb | Object | Manner | Place | Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Robert | lives | — | — | in an apartment | — |
| He | loves | his job | — | — | — |
| His wife | teaches | college courses | — | — | — |
| They | work | — | — | — | in the mornings |
Reflection:
This activity helped me understand that sentences do not always include all parts of SVOMPT, but they still follow a clear and correct structure. Identifying each part made it easier to see how meaning is built in a sentence. I also noticed how place and time can sometimes replace the need for an object in certain sentences.
I look forward to seeing how others organized their tables and what patterns they found!
