WORK AND LIFE

Over time, the world changing process has led us, as humankind, to adapt and apply different strategies and ways for surviving, and as the world keeps evolving, many different spaces do.

One of the most digitally intervened places is the workplace, with the introduction of digital offices, worktools, etc. But, as the use of these appliances keeps growing, creating boundaries between work and personal life is very hard, which brings stress, and mental-health issues. But, by creating little habits, and applying some strategies, these issues can be reduced in a great percentage!

Keeping personal life, apparted from job, can be difficult, but some tips, such as muting job notifications after work or deep focusing time with no distractions will make the difference. Also, different activities and keeping the mind busy in free time. As practicing a sport, hanging out with friends, or playing an instrument, are very good options for separate work from personal life.

Despite the use of technologies for contact with distant people is now essential, in-person meetings have been replaced, separating a very important part of us, the social contact. It is important to prioritize social contact, hanging out in a different space than work, and try to make the workplace a healthy space for all people.

As we said before, the borderline between job, and personal life, gets smaller, and eventually invisible. This doesn’t affect us only, as it affects our family and personal relationships. One of the best advice is to separate spaces, and give the necessary attention to every occupation we have, for them not to become bothering, and difficult.

Following this order, we can say that the use of the digital appliances in our daily life, and specifically in workplace, have good and bad things, but at the end of the day, it’s on us to choose how are we going to use them, and which way are we using for, not only for the tasks we are meant to complete, but controlling the power they have on us.
