One summer, when I was about 12 years old, my family decided to go on a road trip to the mountains in Oman. We packed up the car with snacks, drinks, and enough luggage to last us for a week. My younger brother, who was always full of energy, kept asking, “Are we there yet?” every few minutes. After several hours of driving, we finally reached the base of the mountain. The air was cool and fresh, a welcome change from the heat of the city.

We decided to hike up a trail to reach a viewpoint that my parents had read about. The hike was more challenging than we expected, especially for my dad, who wasn’t used to long walks. However, my mom encouraged him, saying, “You’re almost there!” She was always the optimistic one. As we climbed higher, the view became more breathtaking. When we reached the top, we all stopped to catch our breath and took a moment to enjoy the spectacular scenery. It felt like we were on top of the world, surrounded by mountains and the endless sky.

That trip remains one of my favorite memories with my family. The laughter, the struggle to get to the top, and the joy of reaching that amazing viewpoint brought us even closer together. Even now, when I think about it, I smile at how simple and beautiful the experience was.
