The Sentence Recipe

Every sentence needs at least Who + Action

Part What it is Example

Subject :The "Who" Cats

Verb      :The "Action" eat

Object   :The "What" fish.

4 Basic Structures

Simple: One idea.

I study English.

Compound: Two ideas + a connector (and, but, or).

I study, and I pass.

Complex: One idea + a reason/time (because, if, when).

I study because I want to learn.

Compound-Complex: A mix of both.

I study because I want to learn, and I work hard.

The Gold Rule

Subject + Verb + Object (S-V-O)

Correct: I (S) drink (V) water (O).

Wrong: Wa
