  1. Nouns: name of person, place, thing or idea
  2. Pronouns: take a noun's place =>Reflexive pronouns (I'm quite happy with myself - You seem quite happy with yourself), Relative pronouns (Lake michigon is a place where i go sailing every summer), possesive pronouns (It's mine)  
  3. Adjectives: describe a noun's place => old chair, black chair, leather chair, It's my chair.
  4. Verbs: describe on action or a state =>Action verbs (thing/people in action), State verbs (state of being)
  5. Adverbs: describe a verb, adjective, or adverb => adverb of manner, adverb of place, adverb of time, adverb of frequency, adverb of degree (very - really - quite - extremly)
  6. Prepositions: show a relationship of place, time, location or direction between words => time (before, during, in, at, on), place (in, at, on, under, between), movement (towards, from, to, through)
  7. Conjunctions: connect words, phrases and clauses => F.A.N.B.O.Y.S (For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So) 
  8. Interjections: express emotion => Wow!, Aha!, Shh, Oops!, Ouch
