Strategy I chose: Word Parts (Prefixes, Roots, and Suffixes).
How it worked for me: It worked very well! Instead of memorizing a long word as one block, I started breaking it down into smaller bricks. It makes the word much easier to understand and remember.
New words I learned: Today I analyzed the word Acknowledgments.
Root: know (to have information).
Prefix: ac- (towards).
Suffix: -ment (changes the verb to a noun).
Suffix: -s (plural).
By looking at these parts, I realized that acknowledgment is the act of letting someone know you received something. I also found related words in this family, like knowledge and knowledgeable.
