Hi everyone,
Today I decided to try the Context Clues strategy. I was reading an article about accounting and came across the word "surplus." Instead of using a translator immediately, I looked at the rest of the sentence. It mentioned that the company had more money left over than they expected. I guessed that "surplus" meant "extra" or "more than needed." When I checked the dictionary, I was right!
This strategy worked well for me because it helped me stay focused on my reading without stopping every minute to check a dictionary. It made me feel more confident in my reading skills.
