A theme is a group of settings in Microsoft Word that allow you to create a coordinated look for a document or group of documents. The theme determines the default font type for headings and body text, coordinated colors, and style settings. You can choose one of the existing themes or customize one to create your own.
While working on a document, be sure to use theme fonts and colors, even if they do not exactly match the look you want. To change the look, you change or customize the theme, and those changes are automatically applied throughout the document. Watch this video to learn how to customize theme colors, fonts, effects, and more to change the appearance of a document. You will also learn how to save your modified theme to apply it to other documents.
