A Memorable Family Trip
One of my fondest childhood memories is a family trip we took to Olumo Rock in Abeokuta, Nigeria. I must have been around 10 years old at the time. My parents, my younger brother, and I set off early in the morning, eager to explore this historic site.
As we approached the rock, I was struck by its sheer size and majesty. The sun was shining brightly, casting a warm glow over the entire scene. We began our ascent, climbing up the winding stairs carved into the rock face. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers and the sound of birds singing.
At the top, we were rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. We spent hours exploring the rock's many nooks and crannies, learning about its history and significance from our guide. One of the most memorable moments was when our guide showed us the ancient shrines and artifacts hidden within the rock.
As the day drew to a close, we reluctantly made our way back down, exhausted but exhilarated from our adventure. The trip to Olumo Rock remains one of my fondest family memories, a testament to the power of exploration and discovery.
