Emily walked to her apartment, exhausted from work. As she reached her door, she searched her bag—no key. Panic rose in her chest. She checked her pockets. Empty.
Just then, her neighbor, Mr. Clark, stepped out. "Looking for this?" he asked, holding up her key.
She sighed in relief. "Where did you find it?"
"In the hallway. You must have dropped it earlier."
She thanked him and took the key. As she entered her apartment, she reminded herself to be more careful next time.
