Sentence Types: Let's apply
You introduced yourself earlier at the start of the course by answering three simple questions. Now that you know more about basic sentence patterns and different sentence types, we can share more information about ourselves.
It is common when taking online courses to share some information about ourselves with our classmates at the start of the semester. Just as when we meet people in real life, it is helpful to get to know them better. It helps us work and study together easier. We often learn that we have common hobbies or life experiences.
Instructions:
For this discussion, share a few things about yourself to help your classmates know you better, such as where you live, what your job is, or what your likes and dislikes are. Try to use correct sentence patterns and different sentence types in your answer. When you finish, indicate what sentence patterns and/or types of sentences you used in your answer.
Share your answer in the class discussion forum and see if you have anything in common with your classmates. If you wish, reply to your classmates to let them know or ask them a question about themselves.

Hi again everyone!
I'm your classmate Robert from California. I live in a small apartment with my wife and two cats. I usually teach college courses online. My wife and I work for the same college. We usually take walks on the beach on Saturdays. I love science fiction books, but I do not read often. I spend more time taking courses online because I love to learn new things.

- 1 compound sentence (but): SVO + SVT
- 1 complex sentence (because): SVO + SVO
